October 2005

Well its official. Summer is dead As I type this months shower, I'm looking outside to see a fury of snow and icy rain wiping over the city. Great. Its only October 5th. I guess winter starts early this year. Summer is gone.

But then I ask myself….did summer even come this year? I guess for me, it really didn't. My truck is still in 100 pieces; and even though I'm the one that put it there, it still sucks to think about. Not once this summer did I get to hit an open stretch of fresh pavement and shoot a rooster-tail of sparks 40 feet behind me. Not once, did we get all the iLLconformity rides together for a cruise. And yes, I know it wasn't possible this year, with Corey selling his truck, and another ½ the club's rides in the same state as my own. But it still hurts to think about. Last year, the majority of us were out as a group 3-4 times a week, sometimes till 2 or 3 am just shooting some video, dragging, and watching Dallas destroy his truck. The inability to do that this summer really hurt us as a club, because it automatically meant we didn't hang out as much, and didn't get out to as many shows. But, in the end, sacrifices must be made. And the next time all of our rides are cruising together, I think it will be worth any of the anxiety this summer has caused.
